My names Fowsiya Duale, I’m currently a freshman student at Seattle Pacific University attending to complete my nursing major and a minor in psychology.
Passion is like the engine that drives us toward what makes us feel fulfilled in life. For me, that engine has always been pursuing nursing. Passion is often driven by a combination of factors, including personal interests, values, experiences, and innate talents. Things that bring us joy, fulfillment, or a sense of purpose can spark it. Our emotions fuel passion, and our commitment and dedication sustain it for what we love or believe in. Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to help people and make a difference to those who are going through tough times. Don’t just like nursing a bit; it’s something that pushes me to work hard in school. Moments of profound growth and self-discovery have marked my journey in nursing education, shaping who I am today. I feel as if passion always comes from something, whether it’s experience or someone it comes from somewhere, and I have got to have a genuine experience.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I currently work as a certified medical assistant and ophthalmic technician, a role I truly love. This job allows me to apply my skills in a practical setting, providing hands-on care and support to patients. It also reinforces my commitment to the healthcare field and enhances my understanding of patient needs.
In my free time, I enjoy painting and writing. Journaling is a particular favorite, as it allows me to reflect and express my thoughts creatively. I also love going on walks and putting together outfits, which are both relaxing and invigorating activities that complement my professional and academic pursuits. These hobbies provide a well-rounded balance to my life, nurturing both my career aspirations and personal well-being. I’ve been a certified medical assistant since 2022 and I’ve loved it ever since.
